As a church committed to praying for one another, we post this daily reminder we can all use for that purpose.  It contains links to a Bible reading that if followed daily will have taken you through the entire Bible by this time next year, devotional thoughts from Our Daily Bread, and the passage upon which those thoughts are based, with a prayer inspired by that passage.  We hope you will find it helpful!

Devotional Passage: Joshua 14:6-12

Prayer: We thank You, Heavenly Father, for the example of Caleb who followed You wholeheartedly, and was as vigorous to battle for You at eighty-five years old as he was at forty years of age.  Please remind us often that whether young or old, we have nothing to fear because You are with us; that even as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, You comfort, direct, and discipline us that we may serve You with all our hearts as did Caleb.  As those who are strengthened with Your power through Your Spirit in our inner beings, with Christ thereby dwelling in our hearts by faith, may our lives be living examples of what it looks like to trust You as the One Who is able to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or even imagine, according to Your power at work within us, and to Whom belongs all the glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Devotional Passage: John 14:1-7

Prayer: We thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your promise that it is in knowing You that we know our Father in heaven to which we know the way, also because we know You.  We look forward to the Day You will return to take us to the place You have prepared for us that in the meantime You are preparing us to be placed.  Please grace us with opportunities to introduce You as the only Way to a relationship with God, the only Truth that sets us free from sin, and the only source of Life as He intends.  May we be so at home with You that we are equally at home with anyone and everyone who does likewise.  Remind us often that as citizens of heaven who are resident aliens here, we are learning how to live as those who are longing to be there with You as the One in Whose Name we pray as we wait.  Amen.
