Community in Christ

April 22, 2024

As a church committed to praying for one another, we post this daily reminder we can all use for that purpose.  It contains links to a Bible reading that if followed daily will have taken you through the entire Bible by this time next year, devotional thoughts from Our Daily Bread, and the passage upon which those thoughts are based, with a prayer inspired by that passage.  We hope you will find it helpful!

Bible in a Year: 2 Samuel 14-15; Luke 17:1-19

Today’s Our Daily Bread: Community in Christ | Our Daily Bread (odb.org)

Devotional Passage: Ecclesiastes 4:7-12

Prayer: We thank You for the reminder, Heavenly Father, of how meaningless life is when lived alone, toiling only for our own benefit.  We hear the wisdom in the truths that: two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor, if either of them falls, one can help the other up; protection from the cold comes with keeping one another warm; while one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves; that a cord of three strands is not quickly broken.  Please grace us with profound gratitude for our having been placed into the community of the Church Your Beloved Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, purchased for Himself at the cost of His blood shed for our salvation.  May we be those who live securely in the knowledge that You have given us everything we need in Your Word, Your Son, Your Spirit, and Your children in fellowship with You and one another, to live godly lives to the praise of Your glory and His in Whose Name we pray.  Amen.

If you have a prayer request or a prayer for all of us that we can share for one another, please send it to prayerchain@nbccparker.com.
