Pray and Watch

As a church committed to praying for one another, we post this daily reminder we can all use for that purpose. It contains links to a Bible reading that if followed daily will have taken you through the entire Bible by this time next year, devotional thoughts from Our Daily Bread, and the passage upon which those thoughts are based, with a prayer inspired by that passage. We hope you will find it helpful!

Devotional Passage: Ephesians 6:10-20
Prayer: We thank You, Heavenly Father, for fitting us in Christ Jesus, with Your full armor by which we can take our stand against the devil’s schemes. Please remind us as often as necessary that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, authorities, powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Deliver us from the temptation to employ the weapons of this world against the people of this world thinking we can achieve spiritual ends using carnal means. May we be those who daily embrace and speak Your truth, appropriate the righteousness imputed to us by virtue of the death and resurrection of Your Beloved Son Who is our Lord and Savior, hold out the Gospel of peace wherever we are, live by faith in You and Your faithfulness, and think accurately about the assurance of our salvation as we rightly divide and appropriately wield the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word. Teach us to constantly claim the privilege of praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests, being alert to and watchful for every opportunity to pray for each other and all our brothers and sisters in Christ, in Whose Name we pray. Amen.
